It's Hybrid Thursday, and how sweet it is! This Saturday is my sweet grandmother's 90th birthday celebration, and I needed to make something special for the party. I decided to try my hand at making a birthday banner, especially after seeing Crystal and Carina's new Oh Boy! Party Time papers and Oh Boy! The ABC's papers. In Photoshop I created 15 separate 5x7 in. documents each with a different paper. I then brought in the alphabet I chose, layered them on the papers, and printed them out on premimum presentation paper. That's it! Easy peasy!
I decided they needed a little pop in between the words, a little flower power. My amazingly talented cousin Brittany taught me how to make fabric flowers, so I decided that was just what I needed. I whipped out three of these babies in no time flat, and they were the icing on the cake for this project! You can go here for her flower tutorial. :)
After cutting out the 5x7 rectangles, I attached the flowers to the papers, and then stapled them to a brown grosgrain ribbon. And this is the end result! How sweet it is, indeed! Here it is hanging in my kitchen...
here it is hanging on a white brick wall...
and here it is hanging from a fence. Hey, I was just trying it out, and look at how versatile this banner is! ;)
Here are a few more close ups of those flowers just because they are so dang cute.
Here is what you will need to make a similar project:

Thanks for sharing these cute flowers. I'm still a paper scrapper, and these will look perfect on a layout.
