That's why I started this class. Up & Running with Photoshop will take you on the first steps of a great adventure in learning skills that will benefit you for the rest of your life. In this four-lesson, video-based course, You'll learn all the basic tools and how to use them to manipulate the materials of the digital scrapbooking craft: digital patterned paper, brushes, embellishments, and type. You'll leave class with the ability to make gorgeous pages you can print and slip into albums, embellish with traditional supplies, or print in bound photo books.
This class is JAM-PACKED with information, inspiration, free goodies, and VIDEO lessons that put me right there beside you as you begin your Photoshop journey.

Lesson 1: In this lesson, we start from a pre-planned page background. You'll learn how to:
  • Open files in Photoshop
  • Crop and add a photo to your page
  • Add a grungy frame over your photo
  • Create a title and journaling
  • Complete your page with a cut-out embellishment
  • Save your layout in printable format and for the web
Lesson 2: In this lesson, we start from another great pre-planned page background. You'll learn how to:
  • Crop and add multiple photos to a layout
  • Create journaling in two fonts
  • Add custom shape embellishments
  • Install and stamp a digital brush
  • Create basic shapes
Lesson 3: In this lesson, you'll create your very first page from scratch! You'll learn how to:
  • Create a new blank layout
  • Cut and add patterned paper to a layout
  • Add digital ribbon
  • Create a semi-transparent journaling block over a photo
  • Add a cut-out monogram
  • Create a three-photo accent block
  • Creae a title in two fonts
  • Add a grungy, textural edge to your layout
Lesson 4: In this lesson, you'll continue creating pages from scratch! You'll learn how to:
  • Convert a photo to black-and-white or sepia-tone
  • Cut and add multiple patterned papers to a layout
  • Create journaling in different sizes and arrangements
  • Add a title using a digital scrapbooking alphabet and a font
  • Create custom embellishments with realistic shadows
Learning Photoshop is a journey, and it requires some investment. But I promise that your newfound skills and creativity as you tell the stories of your life will be worth it.

Photoshop Versions

Videos are recorded in Photoshop Elements 8.0 (applies to Elements 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, and 8.0), as well as for Photoshop CS5 (applies to Photoshop CS3, CS4, and CS5), and you will have access to the videos for BOTH versions, FOREVER!

A: No. There is no set schedule, and you don't need to be online every day.

This class was SOOOO much fun! I, of course, loved the wealth of materials that were provided (the freebies were soo much fun)! I learned alot and
would recommend the class to anyone and everyone - and have, on my blog :0). My only criticism would be that I initially found the class materials
hard to locate. A link right at the top of the first page would be idea - or even a tab. The other thing that REALLY stole my joy in the class was
that Jessica used fonts that were not standard in PSE. While she did mention the source, they are no longer available from the source she mentioned.
Being the matchy matchy person that I am I literally spent hours on the internet trying to locate the fonts with no avail. It would be great if in
the future the fonts are provided. Other than that, this class gets a 10!!!
