Welcome to Lesson 1! I am SO excited that you've made the decision to join our class! Family history research is exhilarating like few other things - when you begin to imagine the lives of your grandparents, your great-grandparents, and on back, it is truly humbling to see the roots you came from. And when you match a person you've been looking for to a record about them, it is like finishing your own detective novel. And then immediately starting the next one. ;)

In this lesson we'll be tackling three major assignments. I'll show you how to:

1. Download and begin filling in your ancestor information in our Family History Album spreadsheet
2. Create an account at FamilySearch.org and begin building your "three generations" family tree
3. Gather vitals data from your family tree and populate the rest of the spreadsheet
